About Some Glad Morning

Some Glad Morning is about the power of music to heal and transform our lives. I am a singer-songwriter and x-secretary to politicians now making a living singing for fragile elders. It’s a dream job and I am lucky to do it. I sing songs they know as well as my own.  Some Glad Morning shares intimate stories about these beautiful people and the insights I have as a result of knowing them.

Other things about me: I live with my husband Brian Castillo in the Waterwitch Cathedral where we also record music and make videos. I am a lifelong nature devotee, barefooter, sorta-meditator, and book lover. I used to make a great apple pie before I stopped eating wheat (sad, I know). I have another Substack called Elizabeth Hummel, and I post new songs and videos there. No kids, but I like them. I am quite a quester and try to be peaceful and loving. I dislike the tribal political divides and seek truth and a deeper understanding of reality. I try to cultivate gratitude. Getting old is hard, but I am putting the best face on it that I can. I believe in the Golden Rule and try to follow it.  I am blessed with enormous gifts from the Land Where the Songs Come From. Not something I earned, and I don’t understand it, but I am grateful and astounded every single time a new song is born. The elders have been part of my inspiration for the past few years.
